Midnight Pearl
A midnight pearl awakes me from my slumberous sleep
Deep within my psyche a waking poem begins to creep
Climbing from my earth bound mind the words begin to seep
Many have said, beware my dreams, as strange things have oft been released
Last week bespoke a volcano demon that rained embers upon our house
A storm devil once arose, attempting to carry off our old farmhouse
This week I feel the energy of an earthquake god, as he tries to venture forth
Our basement trolls, him perchance to rebury, are traveling to war henceforth
But they had truly best hurry, for I tell thee we are out of time
Still amidst the darkest, deepest, black of times, a light can begin to shine
Verily I swear, this night a candle will be lite, to shine upon this rhyme
For I will evoke the will of God, with prayer most sublime
Therefore, pray a prayer oh so sweet, like a garland to lie upon our heads
Thus to bespeak, I awake beside my love, with romantic sonnets to be led
