Midnight Pain
The attack came at midnight racking
me with pain!
So bad, I thought I would go insane.
I took some medicine for it...
Relief came a little, I sighed, a bit.
Wondering if these were my final moments..
What is death like ~does He come dressed in
black or white?
Above all is my conscience right?
Shall I be going be to hell or to
heaven?
I don't want to go, I want my fresh
breakfast in sunlight at seven!
But..God, I won't see my daughter
or grandson anymore,
These two beings, full

These two beings, full of life, once I
am behind Death's door!
It gives one pause, to think..never more.
So, I ask God for a few more years...
With true friends, not those out to jeer.
God knows my intentions, so I give my
cat a hug, a kiss, and cheer!
We can cry and moon over the dead
with such passion!
But what about the living, no, we show
no compassion?
Billions have died since the world began,
for them do we weep.
But to the living? We ignore them like
unwanted sheep!
Withholding love and destroying others?
Then wonder..why we cannot sleep
under expensive, soft covers!of life, once I
am behind Death's door!
