Midnight Lunch

Mom Said
to me and sis
“off to bed!”

Bump! Crash!
What’s that? I think
Lights flash.

Something
stirring tonight,
bumping!

Awake.
with my wood bat,
I quake.

"Who’s there?"
I say a quiet..
Prayer.

I peer
from the corner,
bent ear.

Crunch! Munch!
Rabbit had meat
for lunch!

It was supposed to be a Musette but I got a little carried away...
