Midnight Blues

Time and space left me when I downed the two 40 proof bottles
Time and space left me when I downed the two 40 proof bottles
But tonight I'm sober, just buried in my sorrows

I'm a man with no sleep, with demons grabbing at my soul
I'm a man with no sleep, with demons grabbing at my soul
Would you know it's about a girl, a woman with a heart so cold

I pace my weary legs around the house, listening to the blues
I pace my weary legs around the house, listening to the blues
My eyes are far from dry, and my body trembles without a clue

There's a monster inside of me, and he wants to scream
There's a monster inside of me, and he wants to scream
So I pick up my guitar, and I sing out what I mean

I've got the gosh-darn Midnight Blues
And I'm so terribly sad and lonely
I wish I could get my lover back
She is surely my one and only

The night creeps darker shade by shade, 'just want the pain to go away
The night creeps darker shade by shade, 'just want the pain to go away
I have the Midnight Blues, there's nothing more to say

Robert, excellent lyrics for Midnight Blues, I really felt you pouring out your soul, your sorrow and need, very bluesy, well done !
