Messiah

Too easy to get burned, in a world where peace I have not earned. For no matter how much I yearn, the one within me will never kiss the sun. Please, call upon the skies, the men below, call upon my lovers, my friends, my foes. Seek their arms, for I can’t stand on my own. Let them carry me, so I can rest my soul. Let them be burdened, for I a martyr for all. I who soared. I, the one who speaks of love, stoned by eyes that stayed so low, I fall. I fall, engulfed in flames. Its gentle touch embraced in shame, forever whispering my name, the name that fades away. For I’ve had to speak three words, words that scorch my chest and tongue. Words I spoke, but me that stung. The timeless cry, that I had sung. Farewell, my love.
