Messengers Sent

xoxo these are messengers of love
xoxo lovers end their letters with a x and o

someone who's intereste is just to flatter
their message is simple looks do matter

but if a true lover has the time
they'll write a poem or a rhyme
maybe send it as a valentine
a message that is oh so fine

three little words written on a note
messengers taking care to devote

flowers and candy are in demand
they look so surprising in ones hands
yet the message is easy to understand
"You make my life more than grand."

all it takes is a little call
and from your voice some love will fall
like rain on a seed in a heart
the message is the sunshine
that gives it a start

but there is one sure thing
that's the best messenger in the land
never under estimate the power
of holding hands
not much more in love can compete
because without the physical touch
the message is incompleat

Yes, a touch has a powerful message and so do the lips. Candy and flowers are tokens but true love does not need tokens. God Bless Phyl

John, you truly seem to understand the meaning of "love." This is so timely for Valentine's Day, which I'll spend with a cat. He loves me, but he doesn't bring me candy. Thanks for your kind words on "The Mountain." Best wishes for Valentine's Day. Carolyn

You truly are a sweetheart John! A poem that will spark the hearts of many in here. Perfect Valentine verse...oh, I'll bet that Cupid is sitting by waiting for his chance. Though he does look rather timid.:) Nicely thought out and composed...certainly feels like it streams from your heart! Best wishes to you! Love, Mikki

So very true John! Yes, you need the hand holding and the note says you took the time to actually consider and think from your heart. A perfect read with terrific advise as well. Michael
