Mesmerizing Lullaby

A hypnotizing drip drip of the rain pounds outside on the gravel driveway In a steady calming beat in natures lullaby bringing all to a mesmerizing sleepy state Thunder rumbles in the background like a base drum rolling with a crash of  lightening as cymbals in a  symphony of sounds A cool breeze weaves  between each drop of rain  to float in caressing your  warm face bringing a chill  down your spine A softer pitter-pat hits the  window-sill with everyother  drop tapping at the window pane A faster tempo splashes in  the mud puddle with a splish  splash adding yet more sounds  to natures symphony When thunder again rolls with lightenings cymbals crash The cool breeze bobs and  weaves through the rain to  kiss your face with its  coolness calming you, taking  you deeper into a tranquil sleep All around are transformed  into a restful state from  the soothing rhythm  of natures relaxing song
This is an older poem! I use to love the rain but any more.... I really am so tired of it! But this was written to make a friend feel better! Maybe it will make me feel better now!:)

I really do like this poem, Brenda...and your chosen title announces it all so very perfectly. The poems structure is cleverly contrived: slow start, gradually building in tempo, the crescendo, a sudden winding down...and, finally -- peace! Beautifully penned. Lots of affection. :) john
