Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas is a greeting of cheer,
wishing each other a joyous Noël.
A salutation that is heard each year,
is now traditional, where Christians dwell:
a blessing that's music to a child's ear.
Christmas bells have a magical effect,
making strangers more jolly and polite.
On Christmas Eve, Santa's list is twice checked,
while children dream of Rudolph's nose so bright,
sometimes bending the truth just feels correct.
When you greet folks with happiness and joy;
folks oft reciprocate in like manner.
Christmas affects every young girl and boy,
whether they're in a shack or a manor;
exchanging good behavior for a toy.
Both Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
form expressions of love and brotherhood.
When these greetings are spoken loud and clear,
their meaning's recognized and understood;
words of celebration, goodwill, and cheer.
