Mercy Me

Mercy me what have I done?
I saw my daddy shoot his gun.

Heard a noise at night, and brought him out.
Him, his flashlight and his 410 no doubt.

An armadillo's what I heard,
It wasn't a cat, or a dog or a bird.

The flashlight's beam shown on his head,
He raised up, and boom! The armadillo's dead!

Mercy me, look what daddy's done!
He shot an armadillo with his gun!
