Mercy For the Ugly One
On the mirror,
an unexplained word,
tired from long nights,
on long beds,
with strange men;
green,
gray,
copies of themselves...
Snow in sorrow,
a stepmothers love,
burning slow,
in a dying fire,
begging mercy,
for the ugly one...
Down the street,
by the sidewalk,
an open eye,
dead,
like a frozen bullet...
