Mercy

I am in love, with the fire across my skin. The lovers touch, truly my sin. For heaven would be empty, if her eyes, you had seen… and as I stand regretful on this infinite field, with nobody in this ocean to come and shield, me, I stand lonesome underneath the only tree. How sad, that I just wanted to be free. I just wanted to love, with all that I am, to be. My name to be hers, my soul, my seconds. Though this is this life, I reckon. We all stand underneath a sky, for even it, is a lie. Forcing empty minds to try, to justify, their beliefs, instead of asking why. They don’t see the wonder behind the blue. The infinite, the lonely and cruel. They see as far as the eye can go, and so they’re blind to my soul. Perhaps, that is why the night is my own. For in darkness so much is revealed for us to know, but our heads are set, our minds are gone. I am cast away, where there’s green horizons. The blinds shielding the cosmos, violent. Where the grass is dancing with silence, the leafs tremble for my welcomed guest. It slithers slow across my neck, whispering how it would never let, anybody ever get, close enough. And as the Lord shows mercy, a hand appears above me. It embraces the snake by its tail, and pulls up high. So my feet rise closer to the sky, the life within me slowly dries. Neither want to let me go, as they all love me and I’m truly alone. I’m not a sinner, I just die slow.
