Mentioning
The rising sun
A smoking gun
A pestering cat
My Father’s old hat
The enticing whinny of my favorite mount;
The one on which I can always count.
Some of my favorite things-
My lover's seraphic expression
There are more I must mention;
The Red sea
My parrot’s resonant cacophony
The Mother who brought me into this life;
In all her strain, devotion and strife.
When things turn around
And everything is upside down
Skies all look ashen,
There is but one action,
I think of the above ;
And feel immersed in love.
About my day I go,
Thinking of my favorite things.
Honorable mention in "My Favorite Things" contest.
