Mental Zoning Laws

School districts fraught with concern
Amidst dwindling budget supplies
And the dangling sword of teacher evaluation
Pay hefty prices for what counts
as Education

the child:
malleable as clay
Always stapled to the Bell Curve
Our intelligence display

Whereas testing may prove a point
Who succeeds is a rigged game
The quotas of last month
Are hungry for filling
yet our minds take a vacation
In the panicked testing scene

Intelligence
Rendered through the heart
Is not a function
Of dismal obedience
