Mental Storm

Popping thunder, skittering thoughts
which run in streams to the land of drought
which pool in holes of black self doubt
and soak the shuttering soul
Broken lightning, burst of will
which shakes so much the world is still
which electrifies the clouds until
the earth glows white distilled
Sheets of metal, laser rain
which dulls the edge of metal pain
which pushes those who are insane
to the edge of the tipping cliff
Storm of stature, hammered mind
will leave the fragile far behind
to dream of the land where the sun sun shined
and the soul was still and stagnant.
