Mental Captive

it hangs on your wall.
a faded black n white wooden photograph
probably taken some time back in the 80s.
It's one of those bootless thingies a new home owner would cast away, barely even noticing....

but you keep it.
like a lost wandering soul
ungodly hours find you on twos
mumbling ineligible things
to the ghost on the wall.

you stand there staring at the fading figure
it's reprimanding
at times it's happy. or annoyed.
but defiantly saying nothing.

it's in your house. on your wall.
it's vivid. alive. existent!
but only you can see it.
it's draining you,
slowly pulling you into it's ghostly world.

nobody else can see it
nobody can understand
'it's in your mind', they say,
'..or you're just delusional'.
mad!!

so you steer clear from mortals
keeping only to yourself
screaming, shouting, weeping
wishing they could understand
or that someone could find you.
but you're just one of a kind,
a ghost, just like the one on your wall.

Earnest, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Hello Linda, I sure will check out some of your poetry. I am a deep contemplative guy and my poetry usually alludes to a more deeper and trivial subject than the face value. I would really appreciate some criticism so you may fell free to comment.
