Men Make Me Smile
I've lived some tough days,
arms burning with anxiety, body aching with grief.
I've fought to hang on,
clawing for the edge of the ice, scraping, pulling.
So don't tell me not to dance,
don't tell me not to sing,
don't tell me not to pull close whomever I might choose.
I only get one chance so let me do it all,
the love, the lust, the I don't give a f.
This place is full of people,
all thinking they're alone,
we really aren't, I feel your joy, your love, your pain, your lust.
Let's spend the night together,
let's dance, let's sing, whatever.
Hold me close, I hear your air, the same that I once breathed.
Your face, your name, I want it all but only for this day.
