Notes About The Poem

Men Have Forgotten

The Wolf Moon rises
as a blood red sunset fades.

The old man listens for howls
in night's cold still air.

The sound he hears is distant,
then is nearly there.

The old man flees for safety
inside his forest home.

Outside the wild things are speaking
in a language men have forgotten.
