Memory Lane

I wish to go back to the past, when moral values were supreme, Truth and true love were in high esteem, Better life style coupled with less stress. I wish to appeal to the lord to remove this ailment from me, so that I can be free;free from sorrow and oppression. To go back to my former ways that I won`t do for any reason, for I am no longer Ignorant. The past cannot be forgotten, when we go fishing at the river or play volley ball on the beach, It`s just like yesterday. When moral values were taught at home, youth delinquencies were not as rampant, Corruption and selfishness were minimal. Values were more appreciated some were counted as sacred and celestial. Supreme love and compassion reigned, If you lack, you can go to your neighbor and you will be warmly welcome, food is shared willing without bias. Truth and honesty formed the bedrock, People were more straightforward and sincere. True love were taught in schools, homes and religious centres continuously, to foster brotherhood and perfect living. In high esteem was the national flag, flowing with the green-white-green colour, source of pride to many nationalists. Better life style existed then, I can afford to eat five meals a day, No epileptic power supply as seen now. Coupled with good intentions from our leaders, the environment was like a save haven, peaceful co-existence thrives easily. Less stress, good healthy living, life free from noise and other pollutants, Free soothing air inhaled through the nostrils, Hmm!good old days where are thou? CONTEST:'Et cetera' by Debbie Guzzi
