Memory Lane

Memory Lane

I took a trip down memory lane,
Felt the joy, felt the pain
There are memories I regret
And sometimes I wish I could forget
But on this trip, I found some hope
There were moments, before I grew old
Days of joy, days I’d say…
When I wasn’t nearly so old and gray

Chorus:

And feelings came…
Feelings of joy, some shame
Feelings shining bright
As the morning light
Feelings… so many feelings

On this trip down memory lane,
I found some pleasure
In the past, where I can say…
There were days I felt so alive
And I knew I would surely survive
But some days, I wasn’t so strong
Even when weak, I’d sing my song

Chorus:

And feelings came…
Feelings of joy, some shame
Feelings shining bright
As the morning light
Feelings… so many feelings

I took this trip down memory lane,
Where life revealed some things insane
Some treasures were found
On my journey through time
And I knew, even when I was lost
There was a reason for it all
There is a reason for it all
Just listen to the call… the call

Chorus:

And feelings came…
Feelings of joy, some shame
Feelings shining bright
As the morning light
Feelings… so many feelings

On my trip down memory lane,
I heard a voice, the Creator, He said…
On your journey, I hope you’ll see
Beneath the shadows, beyond the gray
To the wonder of all that’s been,
The life you’ve been given, the grace
All the feelings, all the dreams…
Listen, child… it’s a gift from my hand

This life is a gift… my trip God has blessed
God has blessed me… yes, I am blessed!
