Memory

My memories are few and far between, like a blur in a long line of faded dreams Every memory except the one of you leaving So vivid as you gracefully walk away My heart can't seem to let you go although I'm loosing count of the years It still hurts like it was yesterday Your silence fills my body like a match lit in a dark room My heart raps against my ribs Beating louder than any drum I've ever heard I long for it to silence itself Just like your voice It only becomes louder And I am shaking again, as tears stream down my face I beg God to make it all fade away Forgetting you would be beautiful And the pain of this torture would end I will never stop praying that I'll forget you My angel, I will never cease trying I've erased your name from my writing but your face still swims throughout the words I still see you leaving every day.
