Memories of Pat
This is the time of year I dread the most
when memories come flooding back to haunt
It was now you were taken far too young
sixteen mainly wonderful years together
Yes we had many many ups and a few downs
life always seemed so sweet and fun
I sit here remembering so many moments
that are now frozen in time but special
There are some tears both in my eyes, on my cheeks
yet in the hush of night I still feel you close
know you are waiting on the other side of the curtain
soon when my time comes we will be reunited forever
Until that time I will soldier on with life
take what comfort I can from family and friends
try to live a full life as best as I can
I know you would wish me to move on, start again
Yes I have tried, but no-one is you, not even close
I can't settle for less not when I once had the best
my one true soul mate, my forever and eternal only love
So I cherish the precious memories as I wait to reunite
bless you darling, my heart my love
