Memories Lost

Lost in a world that seems foreign to me, this child standing here called me Grandpa I don't recognize her, how can that be,? These people here in uniforms call me Gene, they tell me that my family is here today, but I'm Lost in a world that seems foreign to me, I look out my window, at a bird in a tree, it's name is something, I don't recall I don't recognize her, how can that be, ? I feel trapped in this room, I wish to be free, I don't remember when was the last time I ate Lost in a world that seems foreign to me, Someone just showed me a picture of a lady named Dee, She said, she was my wife for forty years I don't recognize her, how can that be,? This lady says I was a surgeon, with a Doctoral degree, She says Dad please, don't you remember? Lost in a world that seems foreign to me, I don't recognize her, How can that be?

Yes Richard. excellent write. putting the writer in those shoes is a good way of portraying those feelings ans thoughts of people suffering that horrific disease. When it happens the whole family and friends alike suffer too. My Pop had that before he passed away. Thanks for bringing it to peoples attention, Richard.

Sounds like the "All Timer Disease": is kicking in Richard.Lol! It pleases me to know that this is just a neat Villanelle. Even now I meet people who know me that I don't know. Most of the time tho, they are people I knew when they were children, that have grown up.Thank God! Sincerely, Moses
