Memories

I keep all my memories of you
locked up in a box
filmy layers of dust and grime
cover the proof of my crime
kept and treasured disposable roses
and brittle dry proses.
I keep all my memories of you
locked up in a box
hidden in my closet
surrounded by precious books
and empty bottles
it fits in with the clutterness.
I keep all my poems of you
locked up inside my heart
they run around and make
my fingertips tingle.
Words form as I turn away
from the paper
why put into words what I
keep locked inside a box?
