Memories
Closet doors seeking more
Forever closing their sleeping eyes
The cat crawls out from under the floor
Caked on dirt and mildewed scars
Apparitions running free
Poltergeists lynching onto me
Friends and enemies coming together
But who really knows the difference
Serial killers run about
Using my name as a grand hideout
Hiding away losing the day
As if it doesn’t matter to me no more
Who cares, shut that door!
Before they come for more
Entertain these thoughts of my dear old aunt
Put her to sleep with a solemn goodbye
Oh and by the way Sammy says hi
Says he wishes he could be found
But he’s writhing on the ground
From being cast out like an discarded toy
When will you realize he’s part of your life?
Even though your childhood may not be
