It pulls at me Like a memory Bend, sway Lightning cracks Over the watercolor horizon I stand, moon-eyed To watch as the vitality of the sun Slips beneath the inky surface She wore a crown of mercury Falling below forty degrees A new fire, lost in the juniper spring Murky mire, ivory, onyx, and grey Today's Ophelia, temples florid rose Her many layers swell with drink Lazy river, great brown god I was up to my chin And now I wade
