Melted Pride

I pulled the trigger. You melted in my hands. Flowing like silver lava, As hot as dragons breath. You taught me many things. How patience is a virtue, Timing is everything, And in life you will get burnt. I stayed with you Blinded by you power. Breathing your breath. Standing strong and guiding you. Alas, with all true loves it had to end. No fault of yours, or even mine. I still carry the marks you left like some sort of fallen warrior. But they only remind of pride not of pain.

This writing is about my life before an illness has disabled me from working. I was a welder for many, many years and took great pride in that. Now it is not so. Welding is a craft, That taught me many things. Hopefully described in this poem.
