-melody-

Word: Melody

Feet step so lightly to the melody of the instruments,
Like when they were lifted off the ground so roughly.
Those feet barely make a sound as they spin the body,
As to not upset the balance or the past.

A red ribbon twists around the throat, and for a moment,
There's panic, as it may suffocate like they did before.
But it will come loose if you pull it some more,
And there isn't a single mark left to look at.

There's no one else on stage, and for a moment,
It feels lonely as no one partners to fill the place.
But dainty feet step everywhere along with the melody, fill the space,
So there is no need for that feeling.

All I feel now is freedom, as if I could fly away now,
As the light shimmers down upon me on this stage.
Time has granted me the key to move on, time to start a new page,
As I bow to the audience, the melody ends.
