Melodic Words

Shakespeare, with words, made his quill but dance Upon parchment and paper, so daintily along From poems to plays, with tragedies’ glance Each word, so penned, could be sung in song Oh, the masters indeed, had a command for the verse Each line was a moment of life with a sound Leaving not ever, their readers to thirst For music was heard through the words, while profound Alive well today, among the poems of many who pen Are lyrics, or just writes, that read like a song Even from those written by you, my dear poetic friends Are melodies voices that echo and are strong

Yes I so agree many poems would make incredible song lyrics. Lucky are those who able to write music too and literally sing (or have someone else sing) their heart and soul out. Love, Shar
