Mellowed Memories

MELLOWED MEMORIES

Wish we were just married, my trusting
head upon your shoulder.
When we had so little,
Yet.... so very much.
And we seemed to have
truly, the magic touch.

Watching the fog, lift its
cover each dawn,
Like a deer, wakes each morning,
waking her precious fawn.

Really, we had so very little to eat.
But nonetheless we walked to Nortn Beach,
to be with other poets for a Capachino treat.

The San Francisco streets welcomed us.
We were enraptured of the hills!
Life, and the sheer glory of ...
Riding a shiny, orange, Muni bus!

Hmm, I did not live those early days (sadly existed); if only to go back, having chance to properly love those who loved me....and love those I rejected, including myself. Oh well, going back is not an option, for any of us...moving forward with greater love for humanity is the next best thing - maybe better! Yes, back then I think there was more emphasis on being real...at least, more closely attached. Interesting write my friend. Blessings!

Happy romantic memories Pangie, I know things have changed there but back then it was the place to be. Tom

Yes, Tom. it was waaayy different. Lots of writers hung out in North Beach. Better yet, there was no Internet. And people actually talked to each other.)) in the US, they cannot walk, unless an iPhone is plastered to their nose. Same in restaurants, Pangie XXOO thank you

Hi Bob..I tried to bring people to those moments not to the memories...I failed I guess. I don't write just about memories. Boring to me, I get these comments all the time. I see I have my work cut out for me? Thanks Bob. Pangie xxoo
