Melancholy Wishes

my mind sifts through
these memories of you
the bad and the good
short times that we knew
sometimes happy
most times blue
melancholy wishes
that won't come true
so I pack them away
the lid still askew
finally, turning my back
on my love for you

That lid all askew is a whistle blowing watch out. Keep the creative pen flowing. Sara
