Melancholy Days

As the blue jay chirped,
         my sadness seemed to fade away;
                But she lost her voice.
             Melancholy days returned;
              Like a never-ending flood.

Expressive and emotive work. The sound of birds can make our day. I haven't heard the doves cooing in a few days. I guess this cold and wet weather has them hunkered down. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

so sad, but such a good tanka. I hope you are not feeling like this but judging by your other poem I read, maybe you are struggling. I hope you will have a happy weekend!

When the blue jay finds it's voice, rejoice again and reach out for your poet's pen. Belle :-)

Sometimes we have days like that but the sun will shine again, tomorrow will be a better day. Tom
