Notes About The Poem
Just curious, I believe once a poem is written, the title or mention of any person is written in stone, no matter what happens to the relationship, if there was one. To change it in any way, in my opinion, would be a gross intolerance to any historical accounting that the original intended, and serve a dis-service to history. I wonder how many others might stick to this unshakable rule I apply to my own poetry? Example, a girl writes a poem for her Gregory, her latest flame, and then breaks up with him and vows never to speak to his sorry butttt again, and so changes the name of the poem from "Gregory" to Sylvester, he new flame? What a shame.
Megan's Sonnet
MEGAN'S SONNET
Of all the wonders in the world to share
the moment you awaken, with your sighs,
speaks to my heart that you have been somewhere
agathering the love there in your eyes.
I think you wake to spread this happiness
to those in need of you, and I am one,
see how it warms my heart, as if, I guess,
you feel our need your love depends upon.
I know what you've been saying's very clear
for have we all not said these very things?
each sound of baby talk, the heart can hear
and understand for all the love it sings.
Our wonder is in all your love can do
each time your eyes awake, revealing you.
