Meeting With An Old Lover

We had a very mad affair
But that was years ago
Now we are both turning grey
Our eyes have seen sorrow and pain
It was good to see her
We come from different traditions
I am a somewhat observant Jew
She was raised a Roman Catholic
Does that matter?
Some would say yes, others no
I guess assimilation is on the table
But I have been to Israel and that changed me somewhat
Well two souls conversed this afternoon
I don't regret it

I like Robert's word: wistful. That really describes this one, Matt. I really like it.

No it shouldn't matter but all too often different religious beliefs o impact on the ending a relationship and its often outside influences family friend etc that force the lovers to part. Hope you continue to be friends matthew and who knows what the future will bring - you can't help who you fall in love with!:-) hugs Jan xx
