Meeting My Birth Mother

birth mother is here
we only met that one time
excitement pours out of me

she is hesitant
I envelop her in arms
grateful for my happy life

My mother met her birth mother and was able to keep in touch for at least two years before my 'grand-mother' passed away. At least her dream had come true and my mother was thrilled having gained 3 brothers and a sister who had known about her all along. Every August 3rd they had a birthday cake for little Edith 'wherever she may be'.

That is marvelous! I cannot imagine knowing you have a "little Edith" out there, but not knowing how she is.

This was inspired by the tv show where the children who were adopted meet their birth mothers.
