Meeting Midst Midnight

MEETING MIDST MIDNIGHT

We met at midnight in a rather strange way
Exactly how really doesn’t matter
We both had quite a bit to say
And you told me there was a lot about me to flatter

I’d never really heard anyone say that before
I mean for someone to notice and particularly praise
It’s as if midnight beckoned us through its front door
And all my sighted vision could do was to stare and gaze

This was a vision which demanded attention
Every bit and more of what I thought it would be
No masks, no costumes no lies or pretension
It was all I’ve ever wanted and was meant only for me

So we continued our conversation with promises of gold
I wanted those words to last and begged them no faster
I needed to savor the flavor of fortune tenfold
And that’s the midnight Satan became my master
