Medical Advice and Sympathy

I've been told, "Don't do anything strenuous", "Don't walk your dog", "Just do gentle exercises", "Do not go for a jog". "Rest up take it easy", "I'm sorry, there's not much more you can do", "Take your tablets, don't drink alcohol", "It's such a shame you're feeling blue". "No weight training", "No dancing all night long", "No working long hours", "You're knee isn't that strong". "You can't do all that you enjoy", "You simply have to refrain", "The tablets will assist you", "They're important to ease the pain". Well..... I'm doing everything I'm told, I'm taking enough tablets to make me rattle, It isn't making a bit of difference, I'm fighting a losing battle. My knee is swollen and a funny shape, My neck and shoulder are painful too, My right arm feels like it's a dead weight, I'm having trouble going to the loo. I can't put weight on my knee, I can hardly move my head, Stuff this and all the advice, I'm going back to bed!

Don't drink alcohol? How else are you supposed to wash down those horrible tablets? I do hope things get better for you soon, Kay. It is great to see that you can still at least write. All the best

I was debating on whether to do that very thing Rick :) I can smile through it most days. However, I'm having a rough week, my knee keeps swelling up an becomes inflamed, my shoulder is painful, I can't move my head very well due to the pain in my neck, on some days my right arm feels like a dead weight and to top it off, I'm not sleeping well. Thank you for your concern and kind words. :)

I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain Kay. Physical ailments and chronic pain are serious and terrible to go through. Also others can't fully understand without feeling it. It is good that you wrote this. I have written many poems through pain. Take care.

Hi there Heidi. How lovely to hear from you and thank you for your kind words. I was having an off day when I wrote this, in fact, I've had a bad week to be honest. I am trying to stay positive and my writing helps, of course my husband and sons help too. I hope you're keeping well. Best Wishes. :)
