Medical Advice and Sympathy
I've been told, "Don't do anything strenuous",
"Don't walk your dog",
"Just do gentle exercises",
"Do not go for a jog".
"Rest up take it easy",
"I'm sorry, there's not much more you can do",
"Take your tablets, don't drink alcohol",
"It's such a shame you're feeling blue".
"No weight training",
"No dancing all night long",
"No working long hours",
"You're knee isn't that strong".
"You can't do all that you enjoy",
"You simply have to refrain",
"The tablets will assist you",
"They're important to ease the pain".
Well..... I'm doing everything I'm told,
I'm taking enough tablets to make me rattle,
It isn't making a bit of difference,
I'm fighting a losing battle.
My knee is swollen and a funny shape,
My neck and shoulder are painful too,
My right arm feels like it's a dead weight,
I'm having trouble going to the loo.
I can't put weight on my knee,
I can hardly move my head,
Stuff this and all the advice,
I'm going back to bed!
