Measure For Measure

I’ll hit the buzzer first,
swooping in with haste.
Grace is the byproduct
of wild as it comes undone.

Be like a butterfly,
beautiful yet strong.
Don’t try to check me,
my mind’s already in flight.

I’ll hit the buzzer first,
you simply can’t keep up.
Intoxicated by a start,
I’ve got to set it off.

Is it me or is it you
either way it’s too slow.
Measure for measure?
I abhor a snail’s pace.

Stop dragging your heels
this chance is fleeting.
When you are finally ready?
I’ll hit the buzzer first.
