Meant To Be Forever
A heat started at my toes creeping
up my body
Warmth engulfed me, voices
now disembodied
Pictures of me, you, and our
babies such joy
Funny never seen you as an
uptight alter boy
I drift back through time and
all we have been through
The love I felt so quickly
even you never knew
We climbed mountains to
get where we were
When it all came together
on this we can concur
Our time just us, how you
always made me smile
I was never happier until I
walked down that aisle
When our son came, no daddy
felt so much pride
Everyone joked how the baby
they’d have to hide
Drifting even further now I
headed towards a light
But I hear your voice crying
out telling me to fight
Looking down from above
I see you crying
Screaming at the doctors
“No she’s isn’t dying!”
Then I hear a baby crying cradled
within your arms
Is that our baby girl I swore none
would ever harm
Wait where am I? Did I just
have our lil girl baby?
Waking I tell you “ The papers have been
filed, I’m no longer am I your lady!”
“You didn’t care about us and your
actions I cannot stand”
“tomorrow isn’t promised to us
nor can it be planned”
“You see our kids need a
true a parent and that is who I am!”
“You see I stuck around your the
one who left us damn...!”
“A parent is for always and
one who will always stay”
“Here right now I promise I will
give our kids forever and a day!”
“You left me and your babies
because you was so selfish”
“See my motives are righteous
I’m not being rebellious”
You took the cowards way out
Thinking only of yourself our
kids you didn’t stop to think about
Our dance ended then
It was you who showed us,
on you we cant depend
So it’s this true love that
you condemned,
you cursed us and that’s why we
have reached our final end
