Meadow In Early Spring

Strolling through the meadow in early spring Butterflies and honeybees are arriving, Fresh growth appearing on all the perennials Clearly the natural undergrowth is thriving, Promising shelter for the smallest creatures Perfect wildlife sanctuary in my neighborhood, I spot some adventuresome critters about Think about Mother Nature, and how she is good. Some new fencing, I thought might be trouble Isn’t interfering with the movement of wildlife, The pathway I choose has not been blocked There is much evidence of healthy loosestrife, To my sweet meadow new birds have flocked Such a glorious place cannot be overstocked.

Caren, this meadow is somewhat fictitious, but I find it an idyllic place to write about...a frame, so to speak. There is, however, an undeveloped lot I can see through my kitchen window that reminds me of "my meadow."

Indeed, spring seems to be the most emblematic of the seasons, everything is rebirth, colors and movement.

It's a marvelous time of the year...hopeful, promising, alive, vibrant. I love it. My favorite season.
