Me and You
I know I can never forget
that summer night that we first met
there was only me and you
alone, in that crowded room
music in the background plays
TV’s sporting different games
blocking out assorted noise
hearing only your deep voice
loving all that has come after
the sound of love mixed with our laughter
entwined in all that we now do
tethered together, me and you
