Maze

Is there more danger in the open world? If I hide in this maze… I feel strong enough to face the compulsion to escape. And instead stay curious. Even if I cannot make out the screams. I will continue to listen confidently. I can pretend it is my family calling out. And I can allow myself to feel dazed. It is as if this maze is breathing. Letting in a guiding breeze. Fear becoming more distant. Imagining those innocent times. Hesitating at the exit. And turning back into the maze.
