Mayor Cat
Mayor Cat held the alley in high regard.
He rarely went out, it was bizarre in the yard.
Hey Grandpa! One of the disrespectful said.
Maybe you’ll fall out of the window and land on your head!
His grandmother cat boxed that Tom’s ears so hard.
We could hear his dendrites knocking all over the yard.
He had to apologize to Mayor Cat in a kindly way.
It made the rest of us smile a bit the rest of the day.
Mayor Cat had been ruling Cat City for some time.
No one gave him a hard time; he was regarded sublime.
The mama kitties made their young ones behave well
When Mayor Cat was watching them from his window sill.
They minded their manners, they said yes ma’am and no sir.
Mayor Cat watched them silently without comment or purr.
They knew better than to make a bullying meow
Except for the newest cat who got his ears boxed just now.
