Mayor Cat

Mayor Cat held the alley in high regard. He rarely went out, it was bizarre in the yard. Hey Grandpa! One of the disrespectful said. Maybe you’ll fall out of the window and land on your head! His grandmother cat boxed that Tom’s ears so hard. We could hear his dendrites knocking all over the yard. He had to apologize to Mayor Cat in a kindly way. It made the rest of us smile a bit the rest of the day. Mayor Cat had been ruling Cat City for some time. No one gave him a hard time; he was regarded sublime. The mama kitties made their young ones behave well When Mayor Cat was watching them from his window sill. They minded their manners, they said yes ma’am and no sir. Mayor Cat watched them silently without comment or purr. They knew better than to make a bullying meow Except for the newest cat who got his ears boxed just now.

I think I've met that Mayor Cat before, Caren. When I was in Israel, I bumped into someone named Golda Meir. Ya think? lol. :) gw

Aw, this one is just right, Caren. Absolutely superb. Your alley here is my meadow in so many of my poems. I live in Cat City. So many feral cats that won't make up with me, but who like to chase my squirrels. Sometimes they will come and watch me through the glass door if I leave the main door open. I have to move slowly; if I'm too quick, they jump up and run.

Yes. Not regularly, like I put out a cat dish, but I do put stuff out on the lawn for them. They are well-fed.
