Maybe Sadness Is My Happy Place

In the dark I sit
All emotion
No motion
Will there ever be light

I’m still on the outside
A hurricane inside
Tryna control my sky, land and sea
Give me the white flag
I’m ready to set it free

Will a flower ever grow from here
Will I ever blossom or merely disappear
Into the sunken bags under my eyes
Get me out of this whirlpool
I can’t breath
I’m drowning in my own tears

100 voices and not one is glad
Maybe sadness is my happy place
I need a ticket pass away from here
Even if it’s for a day
The weight is too much
To wait is too much
99 emotions and they’re all the same
I’m tired

Very deep poem of sadness, PNZ. What ever has cause this in our world it needs to stop. I know I am also one that feels this depression. Nicely said

Thank you Eve. We really are living in sad times but I hope the generations to follow, don’t experience what we are experiencing currently.

This sounds like a beautiful disaster. And from places such as these, new things will flourish. Like a small forest fire to promote new growth... you will arise anew with rekindled spirit and sail on an uncharted sea.

Hello PNZ Zulu, welcome to Poetry Soup. Emotions whether happy or sad. Can creep up on us quickly. When up set and you feel you must cry a deep sadness comes. So in darkness you go until it passes. Then you are happy. Enjoy your evening my friend.
