Maybe
Maybe
It is so hard to live when nobody cares
No one to listen to what I say
No one to talk to when I hurt
Why doesn’t anyone care?
There is only one thing that will ease my mind
Take my pain away
I looked at the pills for a long time
Counting them over and over again
Colors of red, yellow, blue and white
Such a pretty rainbow
I wonder if it will hurt
Will my body convulse as the pills dissolve?
Will I just fall asleep and not awaken in the morning’s light?
Will I look and just see blackness?
Will I be invited into a bright white light?
Will there just be nothing surrounding my soul
Should I leave a note before I fade?
Would anyone read it?
Would anyone care if I lived or died?
The pills make my head swim
Darkness, light and swirling colors
My soul struggles to remain with me
Clawing at my body as it leaves
People will talk about me
How great they thought my life was
People will know that this was a choice I made
If they would have asked before
If they would have talked about me before
I would never have taken the pills
Maybe I would have survived
Maybe they would have said my name without saying suicide
Maybe…
