Maybe

I may not be your handsome prince,
I may not be your lover,
but I can give your past a rinse,
and help us both to recover.

I understand we can all feel used,
I understand it makes us tired,
but I also see how you're confused,
I'm so much more than is required.

Your voice somehow enveloped me,
Your voice warms my very soul,
I don't know why that tranquillity,
has managed to take a hold.

I guess I feel that if I have a chance,
I guess I could be whole,
if I were to have your romance,
it would truly enrich my soul.

There's a chance we may just be friends,
There's a chance this poem makes you run,
then I would need to make amends,
before I let you not be the one.

So relax my love and take it in,
So relax there's no expectation,
if you think about me that's still a win,
and with obvious correlation.

I may never be your handsome prince,
I may never be your lover,
Although now I know I am convinced,
That I would look for you in another.
