May Yesterday

May yesterday be kinder Let is shelter her and show her how to play May today remind her How dewdrops gleam in morning’s rosy rays Though yesterday’s behind her A million memories colored gold and gray May tomorrow find her Glowing like this bright blue day in May May yesterday be kinder Let it lead her back through fields where grasses sway May today remind her Of a greater love that cannot fade away Though yesterday’s behind her A tired friend with nothing more to say May tomorrow find her Glowing like those bright blue days in May. *For my great aunt Maudlucille Hascall On her 90th birthday May 23, 2009
