May I

i may know the feeling
but have yet to find the words

i may have the question
but the answer i've not heard

i may know what's up
but can't seem to put it down

i may raise the cup
while i've yet to wear the crown

i may know the jest of it
but far from the whole affair

i may have my shoes tied tight
and still stumble everywhere

i may know what's right
and still mostly get it wrong

i may have the rhyme
but have yet to find the poem
