Notes About The Poem

5/7/2026 for For the Love of May Poetry Contest sponsored by Andrea Dietrich

May Expectations

"May is the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope." - Emily Brontë

Here we are in the merry month of May,
when, each Spring, I implore you pretty Miss.
This year, will I win you with a bouquet
as we two are meant for passionate bliss?
How can I get your cherry lips to say,
"At last, we're ready to give you a kiss!"
I know May is the month to know your charms,
and this year I will hold you in my arms.

I was kind of thinking if you entered my contest, this would be the kind of poem you would write! This is signature David K and it's adorable. Congrats in my contest

Thanks, Gershon! One has to keep trying, up to but not including when one is arrested for stalking - lol.
