Masquerade

It has been weeks since I have seen you,
I wonder how you have been

We have talked on the phone, your voice unmistakable,
 I know it sight unseen

You say you still love me and changed your hair,
you are almost done school

I know, I do too; I can’t wait to see it,
I feel like such a fool

The feelings are genuine and real, my hesitation
 to commit causes some pain

I have to be sure this movement is the best,
not so bloody insane

I want to be the one to love you, care for you
if it is true and is right

In time, if things workout and you accept,
 perhaps it just might
