Masquerade

We met on the top
of expectation,
masked;
not to be witnessed
by strangers,
or he, who keeps you
company along with
solitude.
We danced to
endless possibilities
and countless “what if’s?”
We parted at dawn,
you carried on with solitude
and I carried on with my
masquerade.
